Total Recall - Mind Map App Reviews

A limited counter-intuitive program. It is fun if you dont need to actually "do" anything, but there are better mind mapping options out there with a gentler learning curve. Avoid, or better yet developers, add a few more tools to link and move existing bubbles. So much potential, so little usability.

Have built a large mind map, spending hours. Now it will not open. Yuk.

This is the best mind-mapping app I have yet to see for the Ipad. No other app I have tried can auto-adjust the layout and is as easy to manipulate. NOTE: This app needs to be opened and closed frequently to force it to save your work. When you add substantial data, using the PLAY option can cause it to crash. Duplicating your map before doing so can help prevent loss of data. Looking forward to the bugs to be worked out. In the meantime, be careful, save often (see above), and use PLAY sparingly and you will be fine.

This is the first mind map app Ive tried and its helping me to organize thoughts and facts on a big project (article). Its basicallY good. But Im losing some time because the "undo" feature isnt allowing me to click on my last action from the pop-up list - which means unless theres some trick Im missing, "undo" doesnt work. Also, Im unclear what the single-bubble option does on the formatting menus (the multiple-bubble option pulls up the color and bubble shape choices). The "getting started" tutorials are pretty basic, and dont cover these functions. They also refer to a website where help is available, but they dont link to it - and Google doesnt reveal it. So ... more complete tutorials would be great, or links to the website with the answers?

I have current ios- crashed the only two times i opened it. I cannot add notes to map items. No thanks

The type of detailed work required in a mind mapping app is just not workable in the small screen of an iPhone. And while the Total Recall app is simple enough, it may be "too" simple (ie, not enough functionality?!). Maybe this is better on the iPad? But for me, back to paper and pencil. Deleted this app.

The interface seems easy enough and the options are pretty great. Unfortunately, this awful app stops working as soon as you try to create a new map or rename an old one. Its pretty much useless.

This app is simple to use, simple to learn, and is designed in a way that allows you to quickly plot out your ideas, color code, change shape, and connect them to each other with out loosing a thought. Support is also quick to respond and very helpful, best mind map / flow chart app Ive seen.

You can get a lot done with this app. Very intuitive and user friendly. Very well designed software for mind mapping on the go!

I completely love this app! I just want to make a suggestion of adding a notes part to the app on the next update. So like with each map you also have a little side notes portion.

Had a lot of hope for this app but just wont stop crashing!

Ive had this app on my iPad for at least of couple of years. I have a map with probably a couple hundred bubbles on it. I use it to record ideas for writing a book with stories from my life. I update and edit frequently whenever a memory comes to mind that I might want to include in a story. It has been reliable and very helpful.

The app thinks like I do. Helps me organize any project. Easy to use. But it crashes a lot and the resave point is nowhere near where I was when the app crashed. When the crashing is fixed, this app is a 5.

Nothing to fancy pretty straight forward. Its an excellent app for getting things done unlike other most free mind map apps would basically limit you with number of nodes and etc which in turn basically making the free app impractical.

This is exactly what I have been looking for for a very long time. I can now store all my ideas for game making easily, without having to sketch it all out! Thanks for an amazing app!

We tried each mind mapping app in the store and all of them had their perks. Overall, this app feels the most fluid, intuitive and flexible. Its also one of the more simple apps, and easy to use. So, thanks! The logo is weak and uninteresting, so Id consider updating that. I would like to be able to edit the title of mind maps. Having a space to insert a legend for the different shapes and colors could be useful. Because otherwise Im adding bubbles to the upper left of the map and each time the auto layout is used the legend bubbles in the corner of my map start floating around

Does not work is really dumb and stupid I almost hurt my classmate Noah because of this Application. I ruined my whole life. I do not know what to do with my self anymore.

Great mind map app to capture and organize thoughts! Very easy to use.

While some things are easy and intuitive, I am losing far too much time struggling to get these maps as I need them to be. Jumping back and forth from the companys website for help is no fun by any stretch of the imagination. Looks like my computer is the best option.
